Rapes and sexual assaults

The UK Foreign Office warns travelers and holidaymakers for a sharp increase of incidents in Greece, Turkey and Spain 

A ten per cent increase in reported cases was recorded by the Foreign Office (FCO) this year compared to 2011/2012.

The three countries with the most cases of rape and sexual assault were Spain, Turkey and Greece - countries with resorts popular among Britons in search of nightlife.

The Foreign Office assisted more than 19,000 Britons last year, according to the annual British Behaviour Abroad Report.

Hospital Acquired Infections Error

July 11,2013 update by the European CDC :

“The survey confirms that healthcare-associated infections pose a major public health problem and a threat to European patients,” said Marc Sprenger, ECDC Director, according to a statement"

Greece is very high in the ranking, having fourth place in Europe in nosocomial infections, with the top three of the list consisting of Portugal, Iceland and Denmark.

The most common types of infection recorded by the survey to 1,000 hospitals in 30 European countries are respiratory infections such as pneumonia and blood infections. A total of 15,000 hospital-acquired infections, with the main causative bacteria Klebsiella pneumoniae and E.coli, which have great resistance to some of the most powerful antibiotics.
