Greek to me !

The Chief of Staff in the White House was informed by the Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos about the situation in the Aegean Sea , and the issues relating to the "rough neighborhood" of Eastern Mediterranean, giving special focus on that on the dangerous activity of Islamic extremists.

The conversation took place on the reception that Mr. Priebous gave to relatives and friends, one day Trump's inauguration at the Hay-Adams Hotel, which is located just across the White House, and the Greek Defence Minister had the opportunity to inform the second most powerful man in the White House on all issues of interest to Greece.

The reception was attended by well-known personas of the Greek American Community, as Archbishop of America Demetrios, the businessman John Catsimatides, Fr. Alexander Carloutsos etc.

"Close ties between Athens and Washington will likely continue to develop under the presidency of Donald Trump, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos had said a day earlier ."

Speaking at the Presidential Inaugural Committee's event in Washington, Kammenos expressed confidence that "the new American government will continue its close cooperation with Greece within the NATO framework, but also in bilateral cooperation," 

Kammenos stressed that there are "some very important Greek-Americans" in Trump's administration, who maintain their ties with their homeland, according to the newspaper.

The Greek Defense Minister held meetings both with  Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and with Trump's adviser George Papadopoulos, both of whom have Greek roots.
