Hailing from a village in Ileia in the Peloponnese, Theodoros Masouras moved to Achaia some years ago and worked as a farmer, while in his spare time was known to write poetry.
Most significantly, during his long life he bore witness to some of the most significant events in the history of modern Greece, including both World Wars.

A widower himself, Mr Masouras struggled to raise his five children.
